Have you been to the military museum in Diekirch, near the Ardennes? The information notices beside the tanks and other exhibits at the Deutsches Panzermuseum are in German and English, and I think you can hire audio gear. I have been to the National Military Museum at Diekirch in Luxembourg, we were there in 2010 on a tour riding a 650 Burgman. If you are interested in the Battle of the Bulge, that's the place to go. I've also been to the Edersee Dam a couple of times, once staying overnight in Schloss Waldeck with some other BMW riders. The other time I was camping nearby for a couple of nights before crossing into the old East Germany on a MZ. |

I was planning a proper visit to Diekirch last year with my son, but it all fizzled out because of the lousy weather screwing up plans here on the farm... I passed through there in 2011 and had a look but was tight on time so did no more than look into the annex area. I have long wanted to go back, as has Charlie as he is a B of the B buff and has wargamed the battle several times. |

| About 20 miles away from the German Tank Museum is the Bergen-Belsen Memorial Site and Museum which is well worth making a detour to visit. It gives you a whole new perspective of the Holocaust if you've watched all those black and white History Channel documentaries on TV.

| Looks like an interesting destination! You can pick out most of the old circuit from Google maps. Hopefully up for it if ya do a re-run later in the year. |

| Had a great day out at Brookllands managed to get in for half price because of the snow, no matter! lots to see but cold!
restaurant served up some decent food and drinks. Its the sort of place that you need to visit in the summer to get the full feel of the place. Saying that it was an interesting visit and would go again.
Next run out should be to the Excel bike show on Sunday 17th feb. i need to check that date and get some more information. |
