| I've been meaning to check out the cost for AAA but am afraid it may not be issued just for a cycle alone...don't know though. |

| I assume AAA is auto recovery? In the UK my breakdown service covers a second vehicle, (the bike). So, belt, tyre - no start - one phone call and I'm home. Credit card gets me fed and watered whilst I wait!!! Roadside repair is for the young and keen. As I'm old and less keen I leave it to the professionals!!!! |

| If you use the "Post Reply" or "New Topic" buttons you get a few more options and there is a "Insert a Table" icon which may do what you want. Here is an example: |

| Sylski, I carried AAA for a long time and when I purchased a 5th wheel RV trailer I had to "upgrade" to the AAA Plus level of coverage (didn't have the SWing yet). That did, however, also cover the SWing when I got it. I've since ridded myself of the trailer but couldn't lose the Plus category without losing the SWing. So, you'll just be stuck with paying the extra. 'Course, I believe that includes extra miles too. Good Luck. |

| Have had AAA+ for several years and it's paid for itself several times, flat on wife's van, keys locked, but the one that paid the best was a transmission blew in my truck on the way home from San Antonio I was in the middle of Houston. They towed me back to Beaumont with no extra charge. Fortunately I've never had to call them while on the Swing but it's nice knowing if I need it, it's there. |

| I carry AAA+Motorcycle (Plus doesn't include Motorcycle for AAA of the South, not sure if that's everywhere) and it saved me a costly tow when the bolt broke loose and ruined my CVT. |

| I presently have Scooter Insurance with Aegis but I'v been trying to find out if AAA can be a add on to that just for the scooter. Their office has been busy the last few times I stopped and trying to call is like pulling teeth with them. Press this for that and that for this....oh well. Will just keep trying. Mounted my Givi Box today finally and my two small side bags onto the hand rails. Have the back rest on the box and the rack on top also. Now wait for the weather to come in nice! You guys that have AAA, is this your total scooter insurance or is it an add on to something else? I pay $150.00 for Ageis full coverage on the scooter. |

| Ask your insurance agent - Both policies that I have used for the scoots and now the bike covered a tow and or service call as part of the policy. There are restrictions, but if you ask your agent they can tell you what those restrictions are and how they apply. |

| And of course AAA can be used as an add on. Crap, you can buy AAA even if you don't have a vehicle. Not certain why you'd do so, but you could.
But as in all things - ask the people who sell the stuff, they are more than anxious to sell you the service. |

| What to carry----SilverWing Tools to remove both wheels, working pump (hand), small misc tools you are comfortable with( big complicated stuff goes wrong you are out of luck anyway roadside with modern plastic scooter). Extra muffler packing
UK and Europe road services much better than US.
Money--credit cards--phone---water to drink as you are waiting.
AAA US, too expensive for me....and they are not motorcycle people. Right now I have cheap GEICO towing----seems ok to me as they answer the phone 24 hrs a day.
The best was Honda Riders Club----free with new bikes, they would come get you, pay hotel/eat and repair any warranty issue. Great but no more. As I generally ride in warranty, really liked it. Got to stay in better hotels and eat well----in my 2nd retirement I was living off my bike 6 months a year---Helix ridden up to 50,000 miles a year had reg warranty problems---I'd try to schedule them when I want good meal and hotel---Air Box breaking/intake manifold cracking/ on all 4 of my Helix mufflers were re-placed at around 30,000 miles with guts shaking loose. Wish this was still available. |

| Sylski, AAA is not my insurance. I just pay for and use the "service" aspect of it. There is probably a tow feature on my regular insurance; I just never thought to look there but will check it out soon. |

| DickO, you are about the same as myself, I have regular bike insurance that I pay $150 a year for and never asked about towing...duh me ! I have tried many times to get in touch with AAA and am very disgusted with the result's of my attempt's. One has to call a 800 number than you have to give your zip code and they put you in touch with an agent who isnn't there but will call you back. I even went to an agency and waited in line for a half hour twice just to ask question's, got fed up with that and left. This indication to me is bad business. I had 6 year's in the Army, Military Police and was a guard and protector for Audie Murphy when he returned to Europe to make a documentary...return to the third division in Kitzingen, Germany |

| I think you can get all the details you want on the internet. I never had an agent and signed up for AAA via mail and upgraded to +Motorcycle on the web. |

| Thanks DuggleBogey but the problem I have is I need to ask someone about the fact I already have bike insurance and want to know if AAA can be added on as a possible tow feature or such. Is this your total scooter insurance AAA? I'll try again but I did attempt info. on the inter-net before. I even though of just buying a small cheap, I hope trailor that can be hooked to the car and have say my wife come for me and it but....that is a bit chancey and not practical. |

| No, I also have liability insurance on the scooter in addition to the AAA.
The AAA (for cars) is something my wife wanted, adding the cycle coverage to the existing AAA was very cheap, especially compared to the cost of a tow.
Adding motorcycle to AAA+ was $35 per year, and the tow I got would have cost $120, and it wasn't even that far, less than 20 miles.
Of course the repairs on the CVT were over $800, which neither AAA nor insurance covered.
AAA is basically just tow insurance, and they will bring you gas if you run out somewhere. There are other supposed benefits but they have no value to me at all.
You can't get motorcycle without having AAA for your car. The standard AAA is $66, plus is $99. There is an additional charge if you want to add family members. |
