| Anyone got any plans for the Easter weekend? I'm torn between watching the rain at home or sitting in a lay-by watching it fall on me. Not worth going anywhere in the car as the traffic is usually horrendous trying to get back onto the Fylde (Blackpool - Fleetwood). Watching the weather report on the TV yesterday (Wednesday) they were saying that the temperatures weren't expected to rise for at least a fortnight. At least we have the pleasure of staying up on Saturday night to wind the clocks on an hour at 2 am on Sunday morning. Just means I have to stay in bed an extra hour to make up for it.
Cheers, |

| Bit of a no brainer down here on the on the south coast this weekend also - we've cancelled our weekend away on the edge of Exmoor but every cloud has a silver lining & looks like I might be able to get out for a ride locally at some point - even if only 25miles to Southampton for a cuppa! |

I had a holiday to Toronto with Mrs M planned for late September 2011, and we had the hotel and car hire booked, and sightseeing planned. I was going to wear a toque, do a bit of a culinary tour and have classic Canadian food like poutine, Kraft Dinner, and Timbits eh? If it had been in October we could have maybe gone to a hockey game and watched a load of big fellas with no teeth beating the crap out of each other. Unfortunately I had a stroke earlier that month and we had to cancel. |

| Sorry to here about your stroke,I hope you fully recovered. I live 8 to 9 hours north on Toronto ,the only thing that the north share with each other is the size of my province .All the natural resources Like hydro, lumber , moose tags ,go to the south then comes back north at a higher price .One out of 10 moose tags goes to the south and we don't get to hunt unless we go 300 or more miles for a tag. |

Just popping by.... hello all! Easter weekend... Now there was a disaster for me and some mates, as we were meeting up in Galloway for a couple of nights camping and a day in the Galloway forest roads (by special permission) but 3 weeks beforehand, the very long range forecast I get was warning that things were not as they should be..... As we now all know, the snows came again almost to the day of the forecast. A couple of hardy souls went to the Galloway activity centre (http://www.lochken.co.uk/) and camped for the night, but massive drifts in and around the area meant only limited on road and zero offroad riding... What a shame the weather messed up again.... If you are ever looking for a site near Castle Douglas, the GAC folks are friendly and its not too pricey, even a caff on-site if you book your food earlyish. Brilliant riding in the area too Happily the Mayday w/e was as it should be, I was busy farming but had been out up the Horshoe pass earlier in the week and Wales was nice.... Warning: The long term forecast is crap for Whit weekend which is a PITA, as I am pencilled in for 3 nights in the Harz mountains... The one good thing is that I have not booked the Harwich/Hook ferry yet, the thought of 6-7 hr crossing of the North Sea in gale force winds.... ugh! Still Summer cannot be as bad as last year.... can it??

| An ex-forces chap who belongs to the Honda xrv forum and lives an hour away, has organised us loosely, staying a night near Hückeswagen, then to the head of the Edersee, then back to Hückeswagen for the final night. Looks some cracking riding from the maps.... If the weather was nice I was pondering a more leisurely run back to Dunkirk and see a few more bits of the area and grab an extra night, as I have never really been this far North in Germany, as I usually was heading South, Black Forest and the Vosges etc. Any suggestions...? |
