| Just bought an 07. I'll pick it up in a couple of weeks. Was looking for a commuter and the Silver Wing seems like the exact thing. Been riding for almost 45 years. Raced a lot as a kid (the first CR250 Elsinore was my first "new" bike that wasn't a crate builder).
My current bike is a 2008 Ducati S4Rs and frankly not something I want to run up the miles on. So....the Silver Wing.
I'm the R&D Specialist for a high performance tuning and supercharger company. We specialize in Fords.
I look forward to reading, learning about the bike and when appropriate, contribute what I can.
Pix of said Silver Wing in a couple of weeks.

| Ah the Elsinore... Just the name brings back great memories of crashing through the woods and jumping hills in strip mines. As a fellow 'gas in the veins dude' I will simply say the your new Silver Wing will be an epiphany. Yes, it is not the fastest or the coolest. But as a fellow gear head, you will soon realize that it is one of the most well engineered pieces of equipment made. It simply does exactly what you want it to do, without fuss or hassle. And soon, you will be asking yourself, why can't everything be this easy... Welcome... |

| Welcome to the site.
Being from Ohio, you have my sympathy on your year round riding weather. It must get pretty boring.
I also rode dirt bikes 40 years ago. I had a TM400 Suzuki among others, what a killer.
Enjoy your new ride and the site. Any questions that you might have will probably have already been asked and answered here. Just use the search functions.
Enjoy! |

Superchargers, huh? How long do you think it will be before you start looking at your S'wing and trying to figure out how to hang one on it? Thanks for the welcome guys. Yeah....a 2.3L blower might be a little tough to hide. But, we're starting to do some work with the Ford Ecoboost cars so maybe there's hope for a small turbo! Much easier to hang on it and since it's exhaust driven I wouldn't have one more belt to worry about! Oh....and "BJ" versus VNMOUS1. Real name versus the Mustang forums name. Now....off to find a shop manual. I see there are a few rogue links out there, but since I'd rather not download tons of unknowns into my work laptop I suppose a hard copy will be in the plans. Thanks again and have a great weekend. My Ducati's calling. (it's FINALLY over 50f and not freaking raining here in Chicago. I'll be glad when this move is over next week!) |
