| Honda just announced two new models aimed at beginning and experienced riders looking for fuel-efficient, easy-to-handle transportation, including a scooter with optional antilock brakes.
The Forza scooter offers seating for two, and it is powered by a fuel-injected and liquid-cooled 300 cc engine matched with a CVT automatic transmission. Honda claims the Forza will deliver sufficient power for highway cruising, and it averages 68 mpg on regular fuel.
The Forza features an under-seat storage area large enough to swallow two full-face helmets and a smaller compartment in the dash equipped with a 12-volt outlet for charging phones and other devices. The base model is priced at $5,599; the Forza ABS starts at $6,099—a modest price premium for this potentially life-saving safety system. Both variations are scheduled to be in showrooms in July.

Looks pretty similar to SW just smaller engine and more features, but wait a minute, let me guess, in US we will get poor country version - no 12V socket.... |

ABS will not be optional in EU, compulsory (not that it is a bad thing to have though).
I think it would suit being a 'day scooter', not sure if I would like to do any serious continental touring on it - all depends on how good that small windscreen is.
Cheers,

| At $6000 price point---interesting to me...as next year's purchase/ trade.
ABS real plus in the rain for the skilled/dry pavement unskilled=anytime.
Wonder what they did about windshield buffeting---I have had 4 Helix for 175,000 miles=bad buffeting, ReFlex...at 22,500 lady on cell phone ran me and bike over was nice bike, harder to work on then Helix, about same engine and SilverWing, SilverWing buffeting could be controlled by add ons |

| I had the Reflex and it had 20 hp and the European model of this scooter is supposed to have 25.5 hp so that is a big jump. The Reflex I had could do about 75 mph actual with the Givi shield. But the Givi for the Reflex was huge. It probably went to the top of my head and it was probably 4" above my eyes.
I bet this would do 80-85 mph actual. Looks nice. |

| First time I've ever seen the center hump actually have body color rather than that textured black plastic that fades unless you use a restorer like Mothers Back to Black. It looks a lot like the newer Japanese Silver Wing 600. Wonder why they decided to use the Forza name in the US instead of Reflex. |

| I'm surprised no one from the UK has mentioned that the Forza 300 or NSS 300 Forza looks just like a bigger version of the Honda PCX 125 scooter that's been available here for the last couple of years.
I'm not particularly interested but I know it has 24.5 PS, CBS/ABS, 14” front and 13" rear wheels, weighs 194kg with it's 11.5 litre tank full, and costs €5555 in Germany. That works out at $7145 using the currency converter on one of the motorcycle accessories sites I use, so do you really think you'll get it for $6000 in the US. |

The US Honda website lists the 2014 Forza (NSS300) price as $5595 and the ABS version at $6095. Availability from July of this year. It looks like it may be possible to get a base version for $6000 and an ABS version for around $6500 including taxes, title etc. My wife currently rides an 05 Reflex (NSS250) and it has a top speed of about 80 mph. Getting to 80 is another story. You push it to it's limits on the interstate. The Honda review that I read says that it will have about 5 more HP and a top speed of 90 mph. This sounds like a decent upgrade from a Reflex. We finally get a mid-size Honda scooter in the U.S. again. |

| It's about time! I've been waiting for this for several years- I wonder how much trade-in value my 2002 Reflex has.
