| On my way in to work this morning I was paying a lot of attention to the odometer because it was going to click over 16000 miles. Well at the exact instant that it turned over the V light came on. I've had a car in the past that the check engine light would come on at certain milage intervals and I'm thinking this is the same thing. Yes, I need to do some maintenance checks, but is this a real cause for concern? How do I get it to reset if it is just a mileage checkpoint? |

I see that you have gotten a link to the reset. As to the question "...is this a real cause for concern?" I would say it is not a cause for concern as it is an automatic light triggered by the 16,000 miles since it was set at '0'. Once you reset the light it will appear in exactly 16,000 miles from that point. |
