Landslide in Washington State

I live about 35 miles from the slide site.  My girl friend's sister lives within 5 miles and we ride on Highway 530 quite often to visit her and always when on the way to the North Cascades Loop.  The sister knows some of the people who are missing.  I do not.

So far, we have 90 people missing and 24 confirmed dead.  

See the before and after on this.... amazing.  It is over a mile wide....  

It's just heartbreaking to hear about it and worse to see it.

Looking at the before picture it looks like it was not the first landslide at that spot. 

Yes, slides in the 40's and one as recently as 2006.
