| What an annoyance today. One of the local gas stations had changed to a fume recovery system that wouldn't pump gas into my bike. After several minutes fiddling around, I finally figured out that if I pull back on the nozzle's shroud, I could trick the system into thinking the nozzle was fully seated. This was an absolute pain and a real danger of gas spill and potential fire hazard. Has anyone else here had this problem?

| California uses these as well. A real PAIN! First time I encountered it took me a while to figure out how to fuel up my steed. I learned method as you did. It works but is a PITA for sure. Not sure how much this is helping the environment... |

| The LeDude's Burgman Center website has a cheapo mod called a Gas Fill-Up Helper which you might find useful. |

This might help; not easy to find on that site: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MTL0YxPr6gjnD0QnUchS3k9CpxqLBNsKUQ1PLNhGgxU/preview Might be worth a try... |

| IIRC there is a gadget in the Aerostich catalogue ( EZ fill or somesuch) which would appear to be designed for this purpose, thank goodness we don't need them in the UK yet !!! |

| Good idea, I remember them now from a previous Aerostich catalogue. If I needed to I'd buy one and then use it as a template to make a couple more from scrap metal or plastic.

| I made my own holdback out of aluminum but they are reasonably priced at Wingtstuff a very good vendor of Goldwing stuff. After all a Silverwing is a 'Wing too. http://wingstuff.com/products/22494-aluminum-fuel-nozzle-boot-holder |

Tim I wish I could but I was talked out of it by the guy who bought my Goldwing when he came up from CA to get it. |

| I use this:
https://www.mccuff.com/
Mostly works pretty well. The thing to remember with the McCuff is that when the nozzle shuts off, you're done...it's as topped off as it's going to get, and attempting to add more fuel will always cause overfill.

| It's rubber, not plastic.
I shared the info about it just to show an alternative. If you're a handy guy and can come up with something that works by yourself, more power to you. I'm not particularly handy and I'm not ashamed to admit it, so it was worth $20 to me (actually, I think I paid about $15). |

Just thinking must be good dosh to be had making these. As I posted above I made one out of 1 1/2 inch PVC but won't know if it works OK until I hit Calif. again. If it does, I have a bunch more of the PVC and could make some for those who need them. |
