Good bike, good price. You have my permission to buy it. Then go to the introduction section and introduce yourself to the forum.

Jond, I personally would look for a bike with ABS brakes, secondly a 2008 or newer. From 2008, thw Swings came out with an o2 sensor which adjusted the fuel mixture depending upon the amount of o2 in the exhaust. This added 5-10 more miles per US-gallon of gas. ABS speaks for itself. Much safer in an emergency situation.

My 2020 Swing does not have ABS brakes. I wish I had found this forum before getting it. I just drive with more caution. I continually search for a 2008 or newer with ABS, but here in Hawaii it does not happen too often. Good luck on your search. Aloha.

I have an 08 without ABS and an 07 with ABS. So far I haven't noticed any difference in gas mileage. As for the ABS I've put over 50,000 miles on the 08 without ABS and never had a problem with it. That said the reason I bought the 07 was because it had ABS and everyone told me it was a must have.

I use Amsoil but I think any good oil will work, just change regularly and you shouldn't have any problems.

| Offer less---like$2000----8yr old scooter----based on age , replace tires immediately!! They are your connection between life and death.
Any rubber hoses/rubber stuff will have aged---find maint. history. Brake fluid/anti freeze=change!
ABS does nothing on day to day riding----but can save your life on wet/slippery surfaces, etc...or panic
Oil=everybody has favorite....but do not ride enough to wear scooter out. On second new SilverWing, I use WalMart 10-40, and Fram 6017A filters from there, too. This oil works, is cheap, find any place----500,000 miles on it since 1993=no engine trouble, scooters/Miatas/wet and dry clutch motorcycles. I change at 2,000 mile intervals, filter every other change and I never let oil stay in crankcase more than 60 days.
Get Honda shop manual.
Replace drive belt, keep old as spare.
