I rode this morning to run a few errands. After a few comments lately about speedometer/odometer accuracy I decided to experiment. I rode a specific route around town and back to the house. It was 9.1 miles. I took the car, a 2013 Ford Fusion, and drove the same route. It was 9.0 miles in the car. It's not as accurate as if I'd ridden a 90 mile loop but it's something anyway. My speed may be off some but I'm going to figure my miles ridden are pretty accurate.

I believe the newer Silver Wings are more accurate than the older ones. I base this on previous posts on this subject and not personal experience. If yours (a 2012) is that close I wouldn't worry about it.  motorcycle

When I got my second Swing (2010) I checked it over and over again using my Tom Tom GPS. It takes a second or two for the GPS to catch up but always turns out to be the same. I checked it twice with my 2012 and found the same thing. No need to check again.

If my speedometer says 80 so does the GPS.

My 2005 Silverwing is off by 4 mph. If I am doing 64 by the speedometer I am actually doing 60. according to my GPS

I now have over 44000 smiles on my 2005 and it is beginning to be a little more noise. Other than that It has been a good piece of equipment.
