Hi Everyone ,
Just picked up a 2003 Swing last Thursday Only rode it about a 100 miles so far , but it seems like a sweet scoot .

I do have a question.
It has a tall givi windshield on it and the handlebars hit it when turning lock to lock . Is that normal ? Its to tall anyway and has a crack where the PO must have dropped it so will probably replace with Givi air flow or the Madstad .

thanks everyone for posting there mods , this forum has helped a bunch already .
Bought the dampner for the seat off amazon and found one of the factory second tunnel bags on ebay

Ted

Smile hello & Welcome Smile

No it shouldn't touch under normal circumstances (mine doesn't), even if you change to an airflow you will still have the same problem as the deflectors that are being touched are the same profile on both screens.
Undo the handlebar cover plastic, slacken the bolts on the handlebar clamps a little & pull the bars back a very small amount, nip the bolts then try turning lock to lock, adjust further as necessary, tighten the clamps & refit the plastic cover.
My guess is that the handlebars moved slightly in the clamps when the previous owner dropped it & that movement is what cracked the screen.

applause welcome applause
It may be as simple as adjusting the mirrors so they don't hit the windshield. That would be easy to check.

Thanks for the tip on the Handlebars , I will look a little closer on the adjustments now that I know its not really supposed to hit . maybe there will be some mirror extenders in my future even thos I can see pretty good they way they are now

I think mirror extenders are worth their weight in gold, well maybe not gold but copper at least. It's nice to see behind you instead of your shoulders.

I did the same thing that Roger did and got mirror extenders. It is really one of the best cheap mods you can do to the Swing.

I also got a set of extenders and love them. I just catch the outside corners of the GIVI top box but my rear view is greatly enhanced.
