| Interesting, because the above link is from a current member and he claims 9 lb/ft.
Thanks for your response... |

Thanks for your response... One is for the transmission oil plug (9 lb/ft) and one and one is for the engine oil cap (11 lb/ft). Both answers are correct for different questions. The old problem of: "I know what you said, but that's not what I heard." Another reason to have the service manual. |

| Actually this was the gentleman's quote from said link:
"From my manual for 2002-2005 FSC600A: transmission oil check bolt (and) drain bolt are the same, torqued to 13Nm / 1.3 Kgf / 9FtLb."
...I knew that was what I read.
But guess he was in error. |

But guess he was in error. He is not in error. He is referring to the transmission oil located at the back wheel. The Bern was referring to the engine oil drain cap on the bottom of the engine. I think the posters were trying to be sure for which drain plug you needed specifications. I was not being critical, just making sure others reading this thread would see that there is more than one oil drain plug. When I see drain plug I first think of the engine oil. This is what I meant when I said hearing a question may not be what is being asked. Sorry for any confusion I caused. Now we have the correct torque specs for both. |

| Thanks. ...and no problem - I am more than aware of how tone can be misconstrued via text : ) Drain Plug? Which Drain Plug??? Oil Drain Plug = 11 ft/lbs. that's what I needed (got it). |
