| Can Anyone recommend a self adhesive tape say two inches wide to mount on clear face shields to block sun glare? |

Have a look at the Helmet Sunblocker from that bloke down the road from you in Sedona AZ. www.super-visor.com It's not self-adhesive, it fixes using soap and water. Alternatively buy a Super Visor peak, I use one all year round on my modular and open face helmets. |

| I use Duct tape cut to right width----works and stays on---may take a few tries to get right width of tape. |

| I would pass on duct tape unless you never want to take it off! Duct tape leaves a residue behind.
The simple Sunblocker at the link Meldrew provided, gives a cost effective cure for this problem.
Most newer helmets have either a internal sun shield or an external one. Very handy. I have both kinds and prefer the internal model. |

| Window tint should work fine. Maybe you could pick up a scrap from a place that does tinting. |

| Since duct tape works----I see no need to take off----visors have rather short life in daily use, so don't see any need to worry about junk left on----just get another visor when the time comes.
As long time rider---I see 2 problems, helmets with no visor peak. #2 scooter with bad design.....Buffeting, tip of windshield too far from nose. Doesn't anybody ride in design? I like open face helmet with bill----proper windshield design---Heinrich with BMW, Vespa can be made buffet free with right windshield....all with look over!!
Most Helmets are heavy/not all day comfortable/kinda crappy visors-----I rode for years with Bell RT and later Magnum Bell.....Now it appears to me all is style....and you cannot wait to take the darn things off. |

| Currently riding with an open face GMax, internal flip down sun glass and shaded visor that and the Givi does a good job. I must have tried on 4 or 5 helmets before I found this one that fit well and didn't look like the kids paint set exploded. I put the helmet on in the store and walk around with it on for 15 to 20 minuets to get the feel. |

| Uh, how does one see through duct tape?
I have an HJC with integrated visor which I loved - until I put it in the under seat storage of the wing and the seat pan broke the knob that made that aspect operational. Nice part about that was behind the screen of a large bike you could open the visor for airflow and quiet but still have some eye protection from the errant insect. |

| duct tape goes over top edge of visor----lowering point you look out of---almost acting as bill---works for me. |

| I've tried the tape over the visor trick and it didn't really do much for me. I've also used a Sun Ax www.sunax.de on a couple of Arai SZ's. I'm not a fan of drop down sun visors either, you can't ride directly into dazzling sun like you can with a Super Visor peak/bill. I replaced the dark tinted drop down sun visor on my Scorpion flip up with a yellow visor which is more useful for me and I'll get round to fitting a similar one to my Schuberth M1 open face. I've already fitted a Pinlock anti-fog insert for cold/wet weather use. |

| I ride with either my older Bell Mag 8 or a HJC modular with internal sun visor. I agree with Meldrew that an open face with visor (bill type) is the best for riding into the sun. I can do alright with my HJC with the face shield up and the sun visor down but the Mag 8 with the shield up and my UV darkening glasses is best. |

| I have a Scorpion EXO-900X with a flip down internal sunscreen "sunglasses" and let me tell you, normally, its awesome. Riding later through the day as the sun is heading down, you just pop it up and still have your clear shield. This past Saturday was great until about 3:45 til sunset. Granted its due to the direction I was riding, but I had no choice, it was the way home, but the sun was dead ahead, head to ride chin down so the top part of the face opening could block that sun. All of us who ride the SWings and sit in the upright position know this all kinds of fun. Ordering a smoke or silver screen here shortly to double up on knocking down the brightness factor. |

| As I mentioned in my earlier post I also have a Scorpion flip up EXO-900 (neon yellow with black graphics). I've never rated the drop down sun visor on this helmet as you can't ride into direct sun with it. That's why I replaced it with a yellow tinted visor for dull conditions and always ride with a Sun Visor peak. Riding West into direct sun or in low winter sun was always dazzling until I fitted it, now it's essential kit every time I ride.

I must respectfully disagree, one look through the helmet section of an accessories catalog will disabuse you of this notion quickly, as most FF helmets do not have this feature it does become more common as you move up in price point, and is more common of modulars and open face type helmets, but it is far from being on 'most' helmets I do like the idea of the super visor, but have never been willing to shell out the money without trying a helmet on that's fitted with one, or at least see the product My fulmer's drop down sun sheild will allow me to ride into sunset...just barely, but I sure would like a peak as well, nothing else works as well as to the tape solution, you look under the tape of course, not through it if you set it up right, it works well |

I liked the idea of the Super Visor, I didn't know anyone that had one or know how it would fit onto my Schuberth J1 open face (which was fitted with a drop down sun visor/shield) so I had to order mine from the US. I didn't want to permanently fix it to a very expensive Schuberth clear visor so I devised a way of using it on different helmets, which I've been using for about 6 years now. The Super Visor fits a bit lower on the Schuberth J1 and M1 open face helmets because of the brow level reflective patches on both sides of the helmet, it fits higher on my Scorpion, and probably on Mr M's HJC full face too. I bought a new lift kit from the bloke in Sedona as the originals were getting worn out. So if you want a effective solution to to riding into direct sun without being dazzled buy...no invest a Super Visor. If you want to trust in the hit and miss cheapo fix of a strip of tape, that's fine too. |

| I have something like this and it works great. You put it at the top of the visor and it blocks the sun but you don't look through it. If the sun is at the horizon it of course doesn't help.
