New to scooters

Hello all,

I am new to scooters, but have been riding for almost 30 years now. Started with a 50cc, 10" wheel moped Riga Mini Mokik back when I was 15:


My last bike is a 2001 Yamaha Roadstart Midnight that I bought new and selling it right now. Just lost all the interest for cruising in the last 10 years. Now I am mainly riding to work and around town with occasional couple hour rides with my wife. I wanted to by a smaller, maybe a 150cc scooter, but then a year ago I saw this guy on a maxi-scooter, with whom I chatted a bit and got that idea. So now a dealership 200 miles away has a great deal on new 2013 left-over models and I am picking one up in a couple of days. I read a lot about this wonderful scooter and cannot wait to see the heads turning when they realize it is a scooter that just left them in its rear view mirror BTW, I live in Northern VA near D.C.
I already want to install a Boss Bluetooth stereo system, K&N filter and later an aftermarket exhaust, maybe.

This looks like a great place to hang out and learn a lot of useful information.

So it is 5:45 a.m. I am about to go and get a U-haul bike trailer. I was hoping to ride the scoot back, but the weather will be bad here and I did not want to have my first ride to be an unpleasant one. So towing it is. It actually will be my first towing experience too Pictures will follow later.

Be sure to secure the bike with straps attached above the triple-T on the front and to the grab handles on the sides. Be careful not to wrap around the front brake hoses on on the front. Do not strap on to the handle bars. The handle bars could bend. You could search on the forum for instructions. Good luck. I know that you will enjoy the Swing. :flower:

It took me about 4 easy hours to get to the dealer in PA, even though it was my first time towing. I got her  brand new with 0 miles on the odometer for $5,376 out the door. The scoot is beautiful. We strapped her on the trailer and it took me the same to get back.



I was very nervous and kept on looking in the rear view mirror all the time, but everything went well.  I also admired her beauty in the rear view mirror too She is soooo hot.


Once I arrived, I took her for a short spin. I really loved how frisky the scooter is. I am in love. So now riding and riding and modding.

Not sure what RAD is. Are we talking the same thing here? I think we are. This bike was made in Riga, Latvia.

Fantastic! Beautiful scoot and a great price too. My SWing also came with 0 miles on the odometer. Enjoy many miles on it; mine is at 17K and I split miles between two bikes or would be more.

Congrats on your new scoot and it is a pretty fast one too. I was really surprised at how quick and fast mine was when I bought it. I didn't expect the power it had.
