| The weather today was finally nice enough to work on the scoot. Anyway, my Silver Wing has just under 20K and just under 5 years on it so decided to changed the coolant.
Using a tip on one of the posts here on the forum I removed the back 2 screws on the side panel (sidestand side) and this enabled me to be able to get to the drain plug with no problems. No new crush washer so turned it over and reused it... No leaks! One tip I would share is to fill the radiator VERY slowly. I kept overfilling and splashing coolant around. The filler neck must be very small, so going slowly I was able to fill it properly. It took me longer to refill the radiator than to empty it and siphon fluid out of recovery tank DOH. The fluid that I removed was pretty clean, so it was probably not essential I change it yet but it is done now and with 150K 5 year coolant...

This is what I used, no it is not Honda but it was on sale! Plus it meets all requirements and nearest Honda shop is 50 miles away. :flower:

| For some time here in the USA vehicles have been driven from the left side. The curb side will be the right side. The drivers side will always be the left side no mater if you are in front looking back at the vehicle or from behind, even on scooters. Howard |

| Looks like a good job well done. I have used OAT antifreeze before and it was fine. The main thing is that it says 'Silicate Free' somewhere which that does under the description. You don't want silicates as they can damage the seals in the water pump.
I must get around to doing mine sometime soon so thanks for the tip about filling slowly. |
