While looking at some pics of variator online for the silverwing, it looked to me as there were two different ramp profiles on it causing the rollers to pick up at different rpms.
Kinda like a first gear and second gear.

Is this so???

if so would different weight rollers in each ramp profile make it better. Like higher rpm on takeoff and faster acceleration and heavier in second profile for better cruise rpm..

All opinions welcome. Thanks

Max,

I have taken my variator off many times and never noticed this. I also just put my rollers or sliders in any ramp. I have never had a problem either. I know the Reflex has a different type of variator with 2 different weights but not the SWing. Could I be wrong? Anyone like to chime in?

Jeff's right; there's no difference in the profiles of the variator ramps.
