| Subject: Brake Discs (rotors) changes? Thu Mar 22, 2018 10:38 am | |
| Hi Guys! I need to change both my front and rear brake discs here in Austria to pass the MOT test for this year!
I have found a company in Italy who supply both discs + brake pads for a great price, but my question is this ...................
Did Honda change the design of their discs over the years, or can we safely assume one size fits all??
My bike is a 2007 400cc non abs model, and I have found this offer for both the 2006 and 2008 models, but the part numbers are the same!! Am I safe to buy this all in pack for my 2007 model?
Thanks in advance for you help guys!

| steveonfarm I did a search for the rotor set for your bike here in the US and I found that the set is the same for 2006...2007...and 2008. Look on ebay to verify. |

| Cant remember which year the change was, but, yes they did change the size of the rotors for ABS models, while still keeping the original (smaller) rotor on non ABS, then at a later date 'rationalised' it so both ABS & non ABS had the same rotors. Â Measure the diameter of your rotor & check with the seller what size the rotor is that is on offer, if the same then it's happy days. |

| Hi All,
I thought I'd revive this thread as I have a similar question regarding brake discs.
Is it safe to buy non branded discs such as these?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rear-Brake-Disc-Disk-For-Honda-FJS-400-600-Silverwing-FSC-600-01-12-SW-T400-ABS/254230988806?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3D5a6a0303d4b247bd83c0a4c95f3e8a7c%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpf%26sd%3D401930976099%26itm%3D254230988806%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv5PairwiseWeb&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
It looks identical to my current disc, even the hole pattern.
I need to replace the front as well as the rear but I wonder if anyone has bought such items? i.e. non-oem?
Any advice, further to the above, would be welcome.
Mine is a 2001 non abs. |

| Hmm can't remeber LM but I probably got my front disc from David Silver spares (honda OEM)- could have been Wemoto though. Not sure thats much help to you but I've had no problems either way. |

| Thanks CTS. I use David Silver and Wemoto for a lot of consumables and nuts and bolts etc. but I can't justify the cost of OEM discs this time. The eBay stuff is half the price but is it half the quality?...mmmmmmm? |
