HISS Key Programing

Hi All
When I purchased the bike (2007 600) I only got one key. Been looking at various options to get a spare.
Local Honda dealer quotes about £100 ( cutting and programming)
Local locksmiths between £45 and £80 to clone current key.

There are various videos of using a lead with a resistor in to program yourself ( can get key cut with chip for about £20). Has anyone used this method on a Silverwing and does it work??
