| HI all so head bearings installed went with standard ones in the end ..So my question is this, looking at the manual it gives the spring balancing technique in a diagram is that with handle bars fully assembled switch gear mirrors the lot etc or just the stem ? Cheers k |

| Hi bud, it's just the stem, otherwise you would be putting stuff on & off until the adjustment was right, that & it says ... If the readings do not fall within limits, readjust the steering top thread. Install the removed parts in reverse order of removal ... in my workshop manual |

| Hi Bern cheers for the advice I have a manual but was unsure because it says rebuild handle bars etc then the spring test is after that..anyway I managed to do it to torque spec and it is a vast improvement over my spring balance attempts ...cheers again |

| On quick way to check head bearings is to hold the front brake and rock the bike back and forth a bit. If it's seriously loose you'll feel or hear a slight click or clunk as the bike moves to and fro.
Been wanting to use the word fro for a long time. |
