| I had planned on doing some distance riding in 2021----once I got shot for Virus----but things move slow in TN----as over 80 years old, 40% service connected disabled....cannot get shot at this time---but I have noticed old, male politicians who were draft dodgers in their youth, getting theirs!! When Canadian borders open----want to ride thru Canadian Rockies, on to Hyder AK----done this many times in past----easy ride, no gas problems, roads in good condition. Maybe in US, Pike's peak....last time I did it was on SR500 Yamaha bike.
I make no plans, other than goal===just go. Scooter well prepared---tools/spare belt//tire repair stuff and hand pump. This year, maybe more camping....tired of India run motels in US, Motels in Canada are usually better taken care of.....and not so cheap. |

| Just be patient about the shot? We need to get all the Politicians, rich people, criminals in jail and anyone trying to cross the boarder illegally first. US is safe to ride it's a big place common sense and a little social distancing is what all the so called experts recommend. By the time summer gets here the new leaders will have it all solved |

| I received phone call yesterday---I am scheduled for virus shot Jan 20 with follow up second one, a week later----different than what Joe Biden says, there will be some charge which insurance is supposed to take care of. This schedule came thru my reg. Dr. With shot I should be free to wander with little worry of becoming sick---hope others are so lucky. Scooter also need to wait for snow to go away, too. |

| John i done not think the Canadian border will be open until Sept or Oct at the earliest. Covid is causing problems no matter where you go. I spent July and August riding my 600 around vancouver island. You couldnt find a better place to ride.... Maybe next year........

Suggest you make plans this time. Below is a link re: Americans driving through Canada to get to Alaska. Current predictions are the Canadian vaccine inoculation rollout won't be complete until this Autumn some time depending on supply availability. https://www.canada.ca/en/border-services-agency/news/2020/07/covid-19-stricter-rules-for-foreign-nationals-transiting-through-canada-to-alaska.html Also, be aware that successful COVID 19 inoculations only increases the recipient's immunity from getting ill from the virus. It does not prevent them from carrying the virus (usually in their nasal passages) or passing it along and infecting others. Masks, physical distancing and diligent hand sanitizing will likely remain de rigueur throughout this entire year in Canada. |

| Interesting info----will go only when everything is clear. Ridden to and thru Canada many times starting 1957 (RE 500 single---sold as Indian Woodsman in US) Alaska, again ridden there many times, including the long way, so really do not need to do again. Thanks for info. |

| Alcan highway is the long way----just go to Hyder is shortest, probably best with scooter. I have been both ways---Hyder much more enjoyable....and not dirt. |
