| I'm in the process of putting a new rear tire on my Scoot. I've scoured the Service Manual and cannot find the size of the Torx bolts. I know using the wrong size can screw them up so I'm leaning again on the experience of others. If you've removed the rear wheel on your SWING, what size Torx did you use? Larry K. (thecruiser) |

| I'm not sure of the size T40-45 but you don't need remove them to get right side of swing arm off to remove wheel. Under that plastic cover are 2 14MM bolts that's all you need to remove and there's just enough room to free it up. Holder Bolts. Splitting that right swing arm that pivots from engine case can be difficult 3 bolts from left side and dowel pins like to stick. |

| Thanks SWG. I'll try that. I realize there are 'short-cuts' that can be made from instructions given in Service Manuals sometimes. This apparently is one of them. The way the Manual reads, I thought the forward part of the Right Swingarm needed to be removed too.
Yesterday I replaced the belt and the variator rollers with Dr Pulley sliders. (24gm) While there, I also removed the driven pulley and cleaned up the glaze from the clutch shoes. So far I've been pretty impressed with the condition of the bearings and slide areas. For a scoot with 41,000 miles, things haven't been too bad. A good cleaning mostly was all that was needed. As I was finishing a rain-storm hit so I didn't get a chance to 'test-drive' the repairs. Will do that today. My rear tire isn't due to arrive until Friday. Weather permitting, maybe I'll get it off and the new tire installed. Having been a long-time Darksider with my GoldWing, the rear tire ordered was a 155/70R13 CT. |

| Darksider tire. They do last much longer than cycle tires though.
Important thing is the alignment of parts get the wheel back on axle bolt snugged a bit and shock bolted up then torque the holder bolts. Last thing I torque is the axle nut.

Makes sense to me. |

| Guess with car tires, you do not go around corners. |
