LDComfort gear Empty
PostSubject: LDComfort gear   LDComfort gear I_icon_minitimeSat May 29, 2010 1:17 pm

Since I have been preparing for an Iron Butt trip to HAMs ( https://www.silverwing600.com/rally-information-f2/heart-of-america-maxi-scooter-hams-meet-up-t929.htm#7630 ).

I purchased some LDComfort ( http://www.ldcomfort.com ) gear ... here is a great video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn8NocCkbJw .

I purchased the gear from GoAZ.com ( http://shops.godaddy.com/StoreProductList.aspx?shopID=78137888&fs=0&ihs=false&itc=mkp_qbuy_search_store) which offered a 20% discount over the holiday with discount code HOLIDAY20 with free shipping. I ordered both short/long pants/shirts and helmet liners.

The majority of my sweat is from my head. I have previously been using the Schampa CoolSkin. After a long or hot ride the coolskin would be damp throughout and I would have to hang on anything to dry out in between usage.

A portion of the LDComfort gear arrived yesterday. This morning I tested the LDComfort liner on a short ride. The LDComfort liner covers more area than the CoolSkin, it covers my ears and further down the back of my neck. When I was not moving the LDComfort liner felt a little warmer. The moment I started moving with my Shoei Multitech closed except for the vents, I could feel the cooling where the vents were and the back of my neck. After I removed the LDComfort liner ... my hair was definitely drier.

I cannot wait to test all of the LDComfort gear together, when it all arrives.

Hey Bill,

Have fun on your ride and take some good pics. We'll put a picture of your and your bike on the main page when you get back. Just take a good one. Also, see if you can get a picture of you and Maggie too. I have chatted with her a few times on the www.maxi-scoots.com site.

Sometimes when I ride in the hot areas of California I have a hunting vest that can fit a couple of those gel packs that I freeze, and I put those in the pockets. Believe it or not they really work. I have 2 sets (with one set in a very small cooler to keep frozen) so they last a total of about 5 hours. I keep them in front and they cool my chest. The entire investment was only $20 and works good. You could also just bring ziplock bags and put ice in them as you stop for gas. Just a thought though.

Have a great time at the HAMS ride.
