| Today was a bit of a milestone for my Swing. On my way to a meeting in Denver this morning I rolled 20,000 miles on the odometer. My bike was new when I bought it in July of 2008, so in 27 months, I have averaged about 740 miles per month. |

| Nice one! My V-Belt light came on a few weeks ago at 16k miles, marking that I had ridden my Swing over 10k since I bought Senora used in June... No idea how many miles are on there now since I just rode about 1500 miles this last week. They're pretty solid! Looks like you've got your Growler pretty well set up! |

What!?...You did 1500 miles last week --and I didn't know about this? Was this a Jerome-approved ride around the block? I kinda thought that you were scheduled to do some kinda Iron Butt New England ride at the end of October. Didn't know you were doing something equally insane sooner too. How'd you make out with mpg's? Have you gotten your Darkside tire mounted yet? How about the aux driving lights. Tim |

| I did New England on Saturday, NY to DC on Sunday, and South Jersey on Tuesday. I'll explain on PM. In the meantime, good going, Scootist! Hope to be able to have some of the mods you've got on your Swing and that mine is still strong after I put 20k on her. |

| Thanks Hammy, I do like the way my bike is set up. I have to admit though, I have been a bit concerned about the J Costa since I read about the problems that Dennis B has had, but I have had mine on for 16,000 miles now and it seems to be working OK. I do get the V light every so often, and that is annoying, but I reset it and go on. If it becomes a big problem, I would consider trying the Sliders, but because I live above 5,800 feet and am a big guy, I need all the extra boost I can get when I am going uphill and trying to pass, so I will stick with the J Costa for now. | I'm about 265lbs and carry a LOT of gear when I travel. The 26g Sliders have worked very well for me. Anyway... um... how do you turn off your V-light? From the manual, I thought the V-light was supposed to come on if something goes wrong with the belt, but to me, it seems like it's one of those reminder lights, i.e. at 16k exactly, it comes on to tell you to change your belt if you haven't already... |

| Hammy: To turn of the V light hold in both of the little buttons on the dash that control the clock and trip odometers, then while holding the buttons in, turn the key to the on position, wait about 5 seconds (still holding the buttons in) and the V light will go off. |

| So I have to push the buttons with the key off first, then turn the key on, wait 5 seconds, and then the V light will go off. Will go try that once I can get off my recliner but ooooo too comfy... |

| Sometimes it helps if you have a beer in one hand while you hold down the buttons... |
