412 miles this weekend.

Did my trip to my in-laws, followed all of your advice with the last .25 miles of dirt road, pulled up my big boy pants and all was well. I road out highway 14 to highway 178 to Squirrel Valley. Friday the weather was threatening to rain, lots of puffy clouds, and isolated showers, with an occasional lightning bolt. The trip home was a bit more hairy as it rained and hailed most of the way home.
I cannot praise the Silver Wing enough, it was stable, even with 40 mph gusts and heavy rain. My average speed home was between 75 and 80 mph. During the entire trip of 412 miles, I averaged 51 mpg. I rode 3 hours straight without a hint of discomfort.
The new Shad 29 liter case I added 2 weeks ago really came in handy, I was able to stow quite a bit on the bike. Any who, my .02, The Silver Wing is the best :not worthy:

You were able to get 51mpg going 75-80mph for 412 miles?! Daaaaang. I'd be lucky if I got more than 40mpg. Bad weather too?

I was surprised to at my mileage, but since I purchased the bike, she has delivered between 48-52 mpg. No matter how hard I ride. I run 91 octane in the bike, (some might say I am throwing my money away) but nothing but the best for my Wing. In the years that I have been riding motorcycles, the Silver Wing is hands down the best bike I have ever owned.
I have owned 8 other bikes in my life time, the SW is/has given me nothing but complete satisfaction. Thanks, SW10
