| Subject: parking brake light. Sun Aug 28, 2011 1:08 pm | |
| hi everyone, Ive had my silverwing serviced last week, and a new back tyre fitted yesterday, Ive just noticed the parking brake light isnt working on my dash, is it coincidence, or could the recent work moved a wire,or affected a switch?/, also is it easy to get at to replace the dash bulb??, any advice would be mucho apreciated, cheers. |

| the bulb behind the lens is actually an LED according to the service manual.
You might pull out the right handed dash box above the parking brake handle and you will see the micro switch that activates the dash light. Perhaps a wire came loose from the switch. |

| thanks for the reply, going into the garage now !! Ive done it, took me about 10 mins, took out the right glove box, and there it is, the switch, when I wobbled the 2 connecting wires, the light flickered,so disconnected the wires re-crimped, a squirt of wd-40, and refit, the same flicker. then just slightly pushing sideways the outside spade terminal and hey bingo, sorted. Looks like when the mechanic checked the water level he caught the switch when refitting the glove box, Ill kick him up the arse when I see him. |
