Question from a new member: I changed the final drive fluid over the weekend and noticed a lot of very fine metal fragments. Has anybody else experienced this? The scooter is a 2008 with 3000 miles on it. The drive has always been a little noise when decelerating (whine at certain rpms) but otherwise the scooter runs great.

Since it is new it may just be because of that. If you saved them you may want to take them to your dealer to see if they can give you some advice. I don't remember seeing very fine metal fragments in my oil, but then again, I probably didn't look close enough. Maybe others will chime in to tell you what they think. Also, welcome to the site and hope you enjoy it.
