| The GIVI contact that I sent pictures to responded that of the windshields he looked at, they all had a rough edge on the lower front of the top screen. It resembles where the mold is injected. Is this correct for all that have this windshield? See my pics |

| Mine is smooth except for the very centre of the lower edge of that upper screen, where it is "slightly rough". Not rough enough for me to have noticed that it was rough.

| I do not have that windshield, but the explanation sounds very reasonable, I did look up "shortening windshield" in the search section and the people who cut their windshield used very fine sandpaper to finish the rough edge . I would think emery cloth and a very light touch would work for you. It's a shame when you pay premium prices and then have to do finish work yourself. |

| Wananaka I think you might have the 214DT. this is the one i have and, i had to cut 2 inches off it so i could see over it. Unless you bought the screen new of course. I chamfered the top edge a little with the disc i used to cut it with. |

No, I have the Air Flow AF214 with two screens. I have their top box. I replaced my DT214 with the AF214 after reading posts on this site. This just strikes me as unusual for GIVI to put out a product without finishing it. |

| I'm sure the AF refers to the Air Flow model, the one both he & I are talking about. |

| I had the Givi 214 w/s and cut 2 1/2 inches off the top. I purchase the 214 AF but not really sold on it. Appearance mainly. . . Function is alright. If any one has the stock w/s you can put a laminate lip on it an accomplish about the same thing. Just find an old windshield cut of the top and make a lip. It will work well and if you are pretty good at cutting and fitting, the appearance is good too. Old Dave in Western Nebraska |

| I have the AF and it does not have any rough edges on the top screen. Nothing that I would be concerned about.... the bottom is not belly smooth like the top of it is. |
