| My little woman and I took the silverwing to Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and back to Missouri this weekend.
We left Friday night at 6pm and went to Des Moines, IA for the night. Then got up and rode to Cedar Rapids and down to the Amana Colonies. Then up to Independence and visited my aunt for a few mins then off to Dubuque. We rolled through a few miles of Wisconsin then down BEAUTIFUL Illinois hwy 84 to Davenport Iowa for the night. Got up this morning and skirted between the rain and headed for Ottumwa, Ia then back to Kansas City.
We both got a little NBS (Numb Butt Syndrome) but the weather was just the right temperature all except the last 3 or 4 hours of today. When we got back to KC it was 105°F.
The bike registered a few over 1000 miles in total and ran like a champ the entire time.
Map of our ride. |

| Hello Smorkle, Thanks for sharing this ride with us - and for getting back safe. This is an amazing ride for pilot, passenger, and SWing! Guess you need to rest up and get ready for the next one. Ride Safe.

| Yeah, when we left we had one of two destinations in mind. We were either heading towards Sioux Falls, SD and make a run through SD and MN, or the run we made through Iowa, WI and Ill. When we got up on Saturday morning it was storming in Sioux Falls and headed south west towards Des Moines so we headed east. Glad we got to do it. Next time we'll try the other side of the state. |

| Thanks for sharing that ride. I'll be doing a 1000 miler myself this weekend. I'm heading up to Ottawa, Canada for my extended family's annual picnic. My mom's got roughly 40 grandchildren (- I lost count. . It's the same trip I made in May for my niece's wedding. The Swing just rolled on beautifully. (Coming home, the Customs officer was surprised to see a scooter on the highway but I assured her it had no trouble keeping up with traffic. |
