| Hi,
Sorry for not posting earlier but just noticed this section (been focusing on learning about the bike in the maintenance section).
Just bought a 2005 SW couple of weeks ago and it sure is a nice bike. I have to admit I was looking of a Burgman 400 (due to cost considerations) but luckily found this particular bike in almost new condition at a great price and couldn't be happier. Super nice!
Thanks for the great forum which allowed me to learn a lot about the bike and make an informed decision.
Regards, Chris |

| Welcome Chris, I traded a one year old Burgman 400 for my Silverwing. I think you will be happier with the Silverwing, I know I am!

| Welcome Chris. Must be nice to have availability of year round riding. I say that because it has been a bit 'chilly' here in SE PA. Homer |

| Hi Chris,
Welcome to the forum. I had the Majesty for 2 years, and it was a great scoot, but am glad I bought the SWing. The Swing is much more powerful and I really like the fact that the engine is mounted to the frame instead of the swingarm. The weight also helps on the interstate too, IMO. You can do a lot of maintenance yourself, just look at the maintenance section and there are posts about how to do these things. Welcome. |

| Hi SilverWing forum members,
I posted this intro a long time ago so figure I should re-introduce myself. I have since ridden my scooter quite a bit but not as much as I would have liked to. However, it is such a great bike that I kept it all these years.
Since it has been such a great reliable bike, I haven't really posted much.
I have decided to start riding again and more frequently. Since my first intro I moved to Port Orange FL and it is a nice area for riding.
Since the bike is a 2005, and it is getting a little old (although rides perfectly fine), I decided to take it apart and do some good maintenance to it. Bought new tires and I am in the process of coercing the rear wheel out of the bike (it is being very stubborn) and will be painting the wheels (starting to show corrosion). Other than that it looks like not much heavy work is needed besides going through the maintenance list.
So glad to be back to the SWing world a little more seriously and hope to have more good times with this fine scooter.
Best regards, Chris |
