| Hi Everyone. I get a rattling noise from my seat when driving at low speeds which is rather irritating. Does anyone have an idea how I can make it stop? It is coming from the clasp which holds the seat shut.
Thank you,

| Okay "jspiero", I'll ask the obvious question... Are the screws holding the portion of the mounting latch bar on, tight (my bad English)? With you setting on the seat, everything 'should' be okay. Also check inside the rear of the storage compartment where the two access doors are for the rear lights. Sometimes they might tend to rattle. Some folks have lined the flanges with open cell foam rubber strips. Good Luck! OH! And by the way... Welcome to the forum!!!! |

| Hi DickO,
Thank you for the reply and welcome wishes. I have a rather stupid question for the obvious question, where can I find these screws as I did not see them next to the Latch bar, or am I just blind?
Thank you again,
Jov (pronounced Yov)

| I have located and tightened all the screws of the latch (both center and rear). While I was able to tighten the center latch until it prevented all movement, I was not able to do so for the rear latch, and it still has some movement in it, which I am now sure is the cause of the rattling noise. I am a little hesitant to apply too much power when tightening the screws in fear of killing the thread. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?
On another note, I have had the bike now for almost two weeks and have covered close to 1000 KM's. I love this bike! I have owned: 1. Suzuki Bandit 400 2. Kawasaki GPZ 500 3. Kawasaki ZXR-6R 4. Sang Yang Joymax 250i (Taiwanese Scooter)
This is by far the best of the lot! |

| I had a similar problem with the tailgate of my car - just couldn't stop a noise from it. I thought I had tried tightening everything, but the noise was still there. My local dealership then suggested wrapping a small amount of electrical insulation tape around the latch where the catch goes, to act as a 'cushion' - no more noise! Might be worth a try. It's a bit of trial and error to get the right amount of tape, too much and the latch won't work, but it could be a cheap and easy fix for you.
