My second SilverWing 2013 leftover and my look at it and the condition of it. In service since Feb 2014.
Just got new Drive Belt---appears smoother than original, in take up. My first SilverWing had ruff drive take up during its whole life, too.
On new rear tire, Michelin SC Power Pure---$40 from Dennis Kirk. It replaced SC that ran 10,500.
Front tire remains original and probably will be changed at around 25,000 miles. No need at present.
I usually trade at 40-50,000 miles. Most miles at trade-in (scooter), Helix @ exactly 50,000 miles. Plan to ride this one to at least 40,000 before I get the urge for new.
Bottom Line: I see no maint/running issues to reach that 40,000, another rear tire at 30,000, drive belt should make it to the 40,000. As bike is used pretty much every day I see no battery issues. Note: I make no mods other than Give Rack and E-46 box and Givi adjustable windshield----and do not screw with electrical stuff. Scooters in this price range should come with OEM heated grips and plug in for vest.
My take SilverWing not the greatest handlng 2 wheeler but ridden as scooter is ok.
I make sure such things as stand pivots are oiled, weekly wash and spray wax, fix adjust immediately anything that comes up. No power washers----Gunk or WalMart version works fine on engine/metal parts.
Condition/cosmetics after recent ride (7500 miles) to Hyder AK-----lots of bugs glued on/front Wheel was Grasshopper killer on back roads of SD/ND on way west. Several washings/a couple of good rain rides and the bugs will be gone. 100 degree temps baked everything on, too. Fine dirt/dust was washed off.
Suspension remains as first day of use.
WalMart OIL, Fram Filters from there=work, too.
At30,000 miles I will look at air filter (gas mileage still good now) so no need to waste money, might take a look at the spark plugs then also
