| This brief note is an explanation of why a long-time forum member has been suspended for 1 week.
As most of you have read, the admins and John Grinsel have had an ongoing disagreement over forum etiquette and respect for other forum members. John had previously been privately warned that some of his postings were disrespectful of and condescending to other forum members and administrators. He was made aware that if these behaviours were to continue, his posting privileges here would be suspended.
We hope that on John's return he continues to post his travel anecdotes and valuable riding and safety tips gleaned over many years and miles of two wheeled escapades. That being said, if there are any recurrences of intolerable behaviour, further, longer suspensions will be imposed.
Respectfully posted on behalf of all administrators. |

| By reading Mr. Grinsels posts i can see he struggles with written communication! I wonder if he really understands where to appropriately place his posts and becomes hostile when confronted? He is truly a scooter legend and should be treated as such, after all isnt the focus of this forum to learn from each other on the many aspects of the Silverwing and not about talking about our feelings? Then again i guess thats why the feminine and dainty stigma will continue to attach to a scooter! |

| Being a legend in any field does not give one the right to act irresponsibly; it may be of no account to you but those of us who are 'run of the mill' rely on the structure of the forum to help us keep abreast of what everyone is contributing. It is precisely why the forum is divided into sections appropriate to different aspects of owning a Silverwing. |

John understands, he just doesn't seem to care, almost as a matter of pride (in my opinion). As for the focus of this forum: "Welcome to the home for Honda SilverWing and everyone interested. This is a place to ask questions, share, and learn about the SilverWing and its dedicated riders. Please post an introduction when you join as a sign of Courtesy." Please note that "courtesy" is part of that statement. And, while that is directed at a specific act, that courtesy should be extended to other interactions on this forum. I don't so much consider John a legendary scooter rider. I can read maybe 10 of his posts and then I have gained all the knowledge he will ever dispense. (This is such a true statement that most all on this forum can relate to jokes about his tighty whities or lack there of.) He is a grown man and has been acting this way for as long as he has been a member of this forum. Time for him to actually grow up and stop being a bully. |

| Hotwings,
There are 3 major silverwing forums over the past 11 years. silverwing.org, silverwing600.com, and the yahoo Silverwing group. I've been an admin on two of them, and amassed more knowledge of aftermarket parts for it than anyone outside the Japanese modding community. Most of those mods that are common were tested on my bike. I think that makes me a bit of a legend, and an authority on the Silverwing.
Do you see me putting anyone else down? I respect each and every member as my equal. Don't be so quick to let your idols get away with treating you as anything less.

| The Admin team have made a collective decision on this matter. It is final and not for discussion. Therefore, we have also chosen to lock this thread. |
