Spammers on site !!! Please read !!!!

Hi,

I just banned 2 usernames using the same IP address. I also banned the email addresses and the IP address. It came out of China. If anyone sees any strange posts please report them as soon as you can to the Admins on the site. We don't have "mods" like most sites since I have always given them full rights as "Admins" so any Admin can do what I can do. So they have full rights to ban the user, email, and IP address.

I deleted the topics, only 5 of them I believe, and hope they don't come back. A "Worst Case Scenario" would be for us Admins to require all new members to be given approval to join before they can post. I don't want to do that now but we may have to do that for a period of time if others try to spam here.

I am a "Mod" on the CTX700 forum, and they own many sites including the Majestyusa.com forum, and when the Majesty site got hit very hard with spammers I offered to become a "Mod" on that site as well. It took me at least 2-3 days of getting rid of about 500 spammers and their posts, and it might even have been about 900 spammers. All came out of the Eastern European area and Russia and it was a huge pain to have to do that for hours a day.

So please be careful about opening links on new members for a while. There is an IP address look up:

We Admins will be on high alert the next few days to do our best to head things off. But please report users you find suspicious and we will take care of it quickly.

You have my sympathy. Some people do not have anything better to do.They have computer programs that hit sites and try to put there junk on 24/7.China and some of the East European countries are the worst. If it continues I would be happy to explain what I had to do on our scooter site, in a private message Howard NWSSC

I wouldn't know what a spammer looks like, but I do know that their work causes lots of headaches and unnecessary work for other people. Thank you guys, for keeping us spam free.

This spammer just posted totally useless posts about some product(s). This is how you know you have spammers and they need to get banned as soon as possible. I think they do this to get the ball rolling to put virus's on the site. That is why I said not to open a link to something unless you know it is from a person who has posted before. If they only have a few posts with a funny username than I would be very careful. I opened one years ago on another site and got a virus with porn. We had to get a new computer since the virus software then couldn't remove it.
