Newbie - saying Hi all . . .

Hello to all,

Stuart here from the UK - bought my Silver Wing 8 weeks ago now (She's Silver, 'n Registered Sept 06 plate), as a re-introduction to two wheels after 10 years break.

Scoot is a bit battered, having been used by the previous owner as a commuter bike - but it has been regularly serviced scratched but never dropped. I've already thoroughly enjoyed riding it, with and without my girlfriend as pillion. My plan is just going to use the scoot for weekends and short tours in the UK and Europe.

Seems that everything on it is still OEM equipment - I changed the headlamp bulbs for HID's but other than that its pretty straight forward.

I'm 5'10" and find a bit of buffering from the standard screen - so having read the reports on here about Givi, Clearvue and Laminar Lip I have opted for a Laminar lip.

Seems though that the accessories front here in the UK doesn't seem as strong - just love the pic of your machine Dennis - that seat looks a great deal more comfy than mine!!

If you want maxi-riders to chat and ride with, there's a group from the X9OC who meet for breakfast nearly every Saturday morning around 10.00 at the Ace Cafe. Nearly all are on Silverwings and Burgers now.

They also organise rideouts during Spring, Summer and Autumn.

I know you'd be welcome to join them - Darek and Violetta have been on a couple of the rides.
