Sadly since this exchange* took place my lovely wife has had to cease riding altegether and doesn't even ride pillion due to nerve damage in her neck. A neurosurgeon told her "no more helmets" so that is that. I'm keeping the Silverwing however as one of these days it will be my ride. I'll stay in touch. Cheers guys and girls.

I'm sorry to hear that my wife has had her lower back vertebrae fuse ending her riding several years ago.

Yeah, getting older sucks eh? My girl has cancer and the nerve damage is an offshoot apparently.

I'm gutted. My darling wife passed away 22 weeks ago and my life is a huge vacuum. We were together for forty years.
I have the 1800 Wing on the market and when I'm able to move it I'll start riding the Silverwing.

Phantom88, we don't know each other and I didn't know your wife but it was devastating to hear of your loss. I hope time will make your memories sweeter and the sorrow lesser. Please accept my condolences.

That's terrible news Larry. So very sorry for you experience and loss. They say time heals all but at some point I think we just have to accept that life has changed and gone in a direction we didn't want or expect. That's not easy. I hope it helps for you to know that I will pray for you and your wife. She is out of any pain so I suppose you will have to take solace in that. I'm sure you are talking to her ... you just can't hear the reply.

May each day find you in less pain, yourself. This site is like a family ... so stay close.

Mike

Saddened to read your news Phantom88. It must be very difficult to lose a loved and trusted partner after so many years. Cherish the memories you carry with you and hopefully time will provide some healing for you ... BugJr

Larry, I echo the others and am so sorry to hear this. Sadly most of us on this forum are not young and are going through or will go through such things as well. I am hoping that as the pain dies down that you can begin to feel some better.

Phantom88 I'm sorry for your lose. My wife passed away 7 years ago. There are times that I can "feel" her on the back of my SWing enjoying the ride. A stroke was what took her out. I don't want to say it gets easier as time goes on but you do learn to live with it. We were married 47 1/2 great years.

Thanks fellas. Your sentiments and compassion are appreciated. Yes, I still feel that Jen is on the Wing with me. Brings me to tears at times.
