| I've been complaining about the rear shocks on my Silverwing since the first time they started to bottom out. It's a 2006, and they are original, so no surprise that I needed new shocks. I have done a lot of two up riding over the Summer, and that's when the bottoming out is particularly bad. So I priced a set of replacement shocks. Ouch. Then I tried to find a good set of European performance shocks. No luck. Either out of production, or out of stock. So I found out YSS still makes shocks for the Silverwing. I ordered a pair. They set me back a little over $240.s The shocks are a golden color, sort of like the color of Ohlins shocks, and the preload adjust involves moving a collar above the spring with a metal rod, then tightening it in place with an allen screw. Installing them involved removing most of the plastics from the back in order the get the top bolt on and off. There were some washers with the kit that I had to figure out, but I'm pretty sure they are where they are supposed to be. Remove and install one at a time. I got everything put back together, then took it apart again to figure out why I didn't have a brake light anymore. Found the connector that had come loose, put it all back together again, and went for a ride. There is a marked difference in the feel of the rear end both in corners, and in gravel. It feels a lot more stable. I haven't done a long trip to get a feel for it over distance yet. I have taken my passenger for a lot of rides, on much of the same terrain as before, and the shocks haven't bottomed yet.

| If the shocks you're talking about are YSS Eco Shocks I have the same ones fitted. Apart from being a bit fiddly to adjust I have found them to be quite adequate even with pillion and a full load. Like you I bought these mainly because of the crazy prices of some other shocks on the market. I hope they serve you as well |

| Where did you end up ordering them? Do you have a part number? I've been contemplating replacing my old shocks too.
Thanks
