| I can't help but notice the picture above on the main "forum". The right hand, forward storage compartment appears to have a piece of electrical tape holding it closed. Resembles mine, except I have TWO pieces of tape on mine! I thought the "latch" mechanism was broken, so I ordered a new one, and it came in the other day ($2.47, I think). After receiving the new one, and comparing it to the old one, I determined the old one is NOT broken, after all! I still can't seem to get the darned thing to latch, though. Anyone know what I can do to adjust it, or anything?
Thanks, Tracy |

| Two pieces of tape - that is what we would call a 'belt and braces fix' Cheers, |

| Re the forum photo; I kinda doubt that it's tape holding that cubby lid down. That's an '09 model with the 'new' type dash with the improved cubby lids. If you've got a S'Wing with a painted dash & cubby lids, the left side should still be able to be locked, but the right side cubby is infamous for popping open and spilling the contents in the worse of possible locations.Â
Aside from duct tape the only effective fix for the right side is to replace the whole cubby with the later version. You can order all the parts for both sides individually from Partzilla, but it so happens that I have an entire right side cubby available if anyone is interested --of course it being the 'new' version it's black. PM me if interested.

| Is it possible to use the lid from an older model with the NEW compartment, just swap lids. |

| No rattle. The new style firmly latches.
I've still got the above mentioned new style right side cubby available if you (or anyone) are interested. |

| Hey All, my right hand compartment had blu-tac holding it shut when I bought my 2001 SW. I ordered the replacement latch parts from David Silver Spares in the UK. Once fitted, the cover works fine. It's a bit temperamental but it works. Be gentle with it. Mine now stays closed when riding and opens when required...and it doesn't rattle. |

| Lift the lid, remove the screw and wiggle the box out. |

| I took out the glove box and drilled a small hole at an angle to the glove box housing. I then used a small cable tie which is strong and quite unnoticed. |
