| My 2011 did not come with a tool kit. I called the dealer and he said he would look for a kit. My question is what do I NEED to have on the bike when I ride and what do I need when working on the bike? I read that I need a wrench to move the setting on the shocks. What does it look like and can I find it after market? thanks whales |

| No need at all about that shocks. Place SW on the main stand. ( rear wheel is up ) You can adjust the shocks by hand. Just turn the shiny tube at the bottom of the shocks. A spray WD40 can help.
For the ordinary maintenance you need a lot more tools than the toolkit. But nothing special, just the classic ones.
Others here will tell you if needed.
I don 't know the correct American names of those tools.
Eddy

| It is good to have a variety of tools .For the shock adjustment the honda has a pin type spanner it is good for arthritic hands ,spark plug wrench screw drivers 10 mil and up wrench.they all come with the kit and more. If you do your own wrenching.Use only 6 point sockets ,1/4",3/8",1/2" mil ratchet sets 1/2" tork wrench, power bar . The more tools the better. Most important, read you owners manual that is your Swing bible.and a service or shop manual.Good luck |

| I got the above tool kit with my Swing, but apparently the following series only had a screwdriver as the toolkit. Honda seemed to think that if anything ever did go wrong, scooter riders would not be able to fix it anyway and would take the scoot back to a Honda service centre. It all depends on how much spannering you intend to do.
I found a very long #2 phillips very useful for removing the front tupperware (As used in the video of how to remove the tupperware) as well as the credit card screen remover. |

| My 2007 had the tool bag, sponge, and screwdriver. Don't know if the dealer kept the other items or Honda leaves them out to save costs . The other tools are listed in the parts list and can be purchased separately .

| You need to make up kit to: remove both wheels! Have tire pump, tubless tire repair kit. Professional quality. What you need to make adjustments. Shock tool nice. WD 40 nice to have. |

| whales,
I got a screwdriver, some kind of socket wrench, and the bag it came in. I'm surprised they even bother to put this in. But the good thing is that the SWing doesn't seem to break down so you won't need one. lol |

| In my tool bag I also have nylon tie wraps (zip ties) of various sizes, lengths of electrical cable, insulating tape, gaffer tape. The most important things I carry are a debit card and breakdown recovery membership (even covers me for the rest of Europe so I can always get the scooter back home (and me).

| I don't think Canada is part of Europe yet, mind you Turkey wants to join the EU as a full member and the largest part of the country is actually in Asia.
If I'm on your scooter it will get it back to England. After that you are pushing it back to St. Johns (looks like the nearest bit of Canada to England).
Cheers, |

| Seems like vehicle manufacturers are skimping on tool kits. My 1500 Goldwing kit had enough tools to be able to remove and replace the rear wheel which required shifting the mufflers and brake caliper. I know for sure because I did it once in my shop just to see if I could with the kit. The 1800 Goldwing doesn't have much in the way of tools, not even enough to remove the rear wheel from the single sided swing arm which allows the wheel to be removed just by laying the bike over on it's crash bars and undoing the five lug bolts. |

| Hated only getting the screwdriver when I had my Swing. Shadow kit isn't much better. I ended buying a Bikemaster tool roll and carry that. |

| Whatever tools you carry the one you need is still in the tool cabinet in the garage!
What tools, apart from a wheel brace and a jack, do you carry in your four wheeled vehicle?
Cheers,
