| Hi all. After falling incident with my honda silverwing600 2007 i decided to remove some of the plastic body parts for repair. I noticed a significant oil leak from the air filter box. I disassembled the carburetor box and its full of motor oil too. Can laying the bike horizontal for 20 minutes (i needed help for lifting it up) be the cause for the oil leak or i must seek the problem elsewhere? Thanks in advance for all the information. |

| Welcome to the forum. It would be courteous for you to introduce yourself.
In my opinion having the bike laying on it's side for that amount of time would allow the oil to migrate into all kinds of inappropriate places. But I don't know anything about a "carburetor box" on Silverwing 600's. Do Bulgarian Silverwings have carbs?
Anyway, assuming that your Silverwing was performing normally before it took a nap then chances are pretty good that cleaning up the oil mess, replacing the air filter and, maybe, changing the plugs too will bring it back to life.

| Hi again sorry for not introducing myself - My name is George i am 37 old and i live in Sofia/Bulgaria. The Silverwing is my first bike i brought it six months ago.
After lifting the bike from the ground it was performing normally (i traveled 200 miles to home). No warning lights or strange sound or smoke. I noticed the oil leak when i removed some plastic parts for repair. The air filter is not soaked with oil but there is oil in the air filter box and the box that stands right under the seat.(called by me "carburetor box" - i guess in there is the fuel injection) |

| It certainly is possible under the circumstance of it being on it's side for twenty minutes that oil drained into the crankcase breather tube and got up into the air box. But if you've managed to ride it 200 miles after it was laid down without any incident then I'd say that everything is okay.
Plan A: I'd say though that you might want to clean out any oil residue from the air box. However it is very difficult to remove.
Plan B: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
