Techron, Redex, Redline, SeaFoam fuel additives

Frequently the subject of Techron fuel system cleaner comes up only to the consternation of our UK and Euro members. So I spent some time researching the MSDS sheets for the most effective products. Hopefully this info will assist  folks in finding their way thru the maze. So here's the “What’s in it?”, and also a homemade version of SeaFoam:

All percentages are by weight


TECHRON CONCENTRATE:
Distillates, hydrotreated light, 40-70%                       (kerosine)
Stoddard Solvent 15-40%                                         (mineral spirits)
Solvent Naphtha (petroleum), light aromatic 5-10%    (paint thinner)
1,2,4-trimethyl benzene 1-5% 
PEA (detergent), polyether amines 20-49%                 (Poly Ether Amine)

RED LINE S-1:
PEA   30-50%
Isooctanal  1-10%
Aliphatic Naptha  5-20%

GUMOUT REGANE (Yellow)
Naphtha     ?%
PEA           30-40%
Kerosene   60-70%

REDEX:
Naptha  60-100%
Kerosine  1-5%

SEA FOAM:
Pale Oil  40-60%
Naptha  25-35%
Isopropol Alcohol  10-20%

and

Homemade SeaFoam:
4 parts diesel fuel 
2 parts naptha 
1 part isopropol alcohol (Iso-Heet brand fuel treatment)

A Techron representative said that the most effective ingredient in their product  is a PEA. If that’s the case then a good alternative to Techron would be GumOut Regane or Red Line S-1. Both with higher concentration of PEA.

We in Quebec, don't have sea foam. Do you think Lucas make a similar product?

Lucas makes a few fuel products.  This is most likely
similar to Seafoam.
